Его трактат «Земледелие» (или «О сельском хозяйстве») - самое древнее сохранившееся прозаическое произведение на латинском языке и важный источник по истории сельского хозяйства, экономики и быта. Дошедшее до наших дней во фрагментах сочинение «Нача́ла» - первое историческое сочинение на латинском языке в прозе. Другие его сочинения сохранились лишь в небольших отрывках.
