In 2007, while they were living in Brazil, Doug Lewis and his best friend Philippe Bouchet decided to go on a long trek through the Amazon rainforest. They had never organised such a challenging adventure before, so they placed an advertisement on the internet asking for advice. Hundreds of people responded, asking to come on the trek! Doug and Philippe were surprised, but pleased. They invited four young Brazilians to come with them.
