It's a pleasure talking to you. Hope you're doing good.

Last week I got an email which promoted volunteering in different ventures such as hospitals, festivals and sports events. The idea hooked me up really but I'm somewhat undecided whether I should jump on that train. So, I've decided to ask for your advice.

Please tell me, Helen, are there any volunteer events going on in your city? Have you participated in any of these? Did you like it? If you had yet another opportunity to participate in such, what would you fall for and why?

My father said, when I talked to him about that: no gain - no pain. I think he mangled the idiom, however I feel him in a way. What is your parent's attitude towards volunteering?

Hopefully, your answer helps me decide whether I'm ready for volunteering and whether it is worth it anyway.
