The text deals with short circuits in electric appliences. It is known that the electric current can sharply raise when wires with different potential are interconnected. It should be noted that short circuit can be very damaging for the electric equipment where it occurrs. Short circuit are reported to cause fires. Much attention is paid to the diameter of connecting wires which can be  heavily overloaded during short circuit situations. It is stressed that either fuses or any other means of protection are to be used in any circuit where a short circuit situation may happen. The article stresses that all possible measures should be taken to avoid a short circuit.
