My name is Olena and I’m thirteen years old. I study at the secondary school number sixty-eight in Lviv. Every day we have five or six lessons. Sometimes we stay after the classes for additional practice in English or Maths. In fact, English is my favourite subject. I like spending time in that classroom doing different speaking, reading or writing activities. It is very well-equipped and full of educational resources. We’ve been studying English since the first grade.
Our teachers often changed, but last year we met Anna Nikolaevna, who changed everything to the better. She is a wonderful teacher and tutor. Apart from teaching us, she’s done a lot for our English classroom. It is now totally new. We have a whiteboard instead of a blackboard. We use colourful markers to write on it. The desks and chairs are also top new. They are arranged in a circle so we can see each other and interact. On the days of tests Anna Nikolaevna asks us to rearrange the desks and we sit rather far from each other not to have the possibility for cheating. For listening activities we have special facilities, including the CD-player and individual headphones. One of the reasons why I like our English classroom is the variety of books, magazines, foreign postcards and informative stands. As soon as you enter this room, mentally you transfer to the English-speaking countries.
For example, there are pictures of London attractions and New York parks. There are some wall newspapers which we created ourselves as a part of a project. All in all, it’s a great classroom, which we attend three times a week. Those who stay for additional practice, including me, attend it more often.
