а) x(x-9)-2(x-9)=(x-9)(x-2);
б) 7x-7y+cx-cy=7(x-y)+c(x-y)=(x-y)(7+c);

а) 0.4x(3x^2-2)(5-6x^2)=0.4x(15x^2-18x^4-10+12x^2)=6x^3-7.2x^5-4+4.8x^3=-7.2x^5+10.8x^3-4=-72x^5+108x^3-40=-9x^3(8x^2+12)-40;
б) 2с(c-6)-(c-4)(c-5)=2c^2-12с-с^2+5с+4с+20=с^2-3с+20;

Long ago many towns had walls round them. As you walked
round a town you came every hundred yards or so to towers that
stood out from the walls and rose high above them, so that no
enemy could come up to the wall to pull it down without being
shot at from loopholes in the towers. On each side of the gates the
towers were higher and stronger than usual. The arch ofthe gate
had a portcullis in it, and, if there was a moat round the town, a
drawbridge also. From a long way offit was possible to see the
church towers rising high above the red-tiled roofs of the houses.
Roundabout the walls there were the meadows where cattle
pastured, and where the citizens, on holidays, ran races, held
sports or walked more soberly about. Ifthe great bell in the
church tower were suddenly to ring loudly and quickly in times o!
danger, you would have seen them all give up sporting and
walking and hurriedlyre-enter the city not to be shut on the
wrong side of the wall.
On busy days the roads leading to the gates were crowded.
You might have seen a knight in armour riding to war with
his squires behind him, or perhaps a jolly band of young
men or women going out with hawks on list to chase the
herons that flew with their long legs behind them up and
down the river. On market day fanners came to sell cheese,
butter, eggs and other things to the citizens. Some ofthem
carried their wives on pillions behind them. Here and there drawbridge also. From a long way offit was possible to see the
church towers rising high above the red-tiled roofs of the houses.

you might have seen a merchant with his goods on the back
of pack- horses. He carried his goods in this way partly
because the roads were too full of holes and mud for carts to
travel, and partly because he often wanted to go where there
were no roads at all. They all got out of the way of the
hawking party. It is not pleasant to be rolled into the mud or
have all one s eggs cracked.
