The Russian New Year is celebrated on January, 1,2,3,4 and 5. The second New Year is recognized in Russia, too- The Old New Year, which takes place after the regular New Year. It occurs on January, 13 which is the first of the year according to the Julian Calendar. New Year holidays in Russia last for 10 calendar days. Currently the New Year is a bigger holiday than Christmas in Russia. Russian Christmas comes 2 weeks later than in other countries,on January 7.
