I want to tell you about one of Vladimir Serov's painting. It is a canvas depicting still life. In this picture Serov concentrated on the perception of the model and nature.

The canvas depicts a young woman leaning back against a tree. Her pose is relaxed and her arms are folded on her lap. She has dark hair gathered from behind.

The girl looks at the viewer, and there is a barely noticeable smile on her lips. The dark belt fastens at the waist over the lace collar blouse. Girl's hands rest on a dark blue skirt. In the background there are several trees seen brightly lit by the sun. The scale of black-grey and brown tones dominates in the painting, however, the most prominent part of the painting is the girl’s face.

There are definite features of early Russian impressionism in the development of light and color and picturesque perception of the world.
