larmih: Jambo heißt Hallo.

13. Dezember, Flughafen Frankfurt, 19.00 Uhr. 16 Schüler aus Schleswig – Holstein und Berlin fliegen nach Kenia, in die Schule in Nairobi, ein Mädcheninternat. Dort erwarten sie 16 kenianischen Schülerinnen und ihre Eltern. Sie nehmen die Deutschen mit nach Hause.

larmih: Die Mädchen und Jungen leben fünf Wochen bei ihren Gastfamilien. Im Sommer kommen dann die kenianischen Mädchen in die Bundesrepublik. Zum Schüleraustausch in dem Land am Äquator – das ist ein Traum für jeden deutschen Jugendlichen. Jedes Jahr besuchen sich Gruppen aus beiden Ländern. Die Deutschen fahren im Winter, die Kenianer im Sommer.

larmih: Das Programm ist interessant: es gibt Besichtigungen von Betrieben, Schulunterricht, Badeurlaub u.v.a. Ein wichtiger Programmteil ist das Wohnen in den Familien. Fünf Wochen haben die Schüler neue Schwester, Brüder und Eltern. Da erfährt man viel über Land und Leute.
