В Азовское море впадают две кубанские реки, это Кубань и Протока. Остальные реки впадают в Черное море. Таких горных рек около трех сотен, среди них Агой, Бзып, Велека. Они берут начало в горах Кавказского хребта и наполняют Чёрное море пресной водой. Практически по каждому ущелью протекают горные речушки, они невелики по протяженности, но довольно полноводны в паводки, доставляя неприятности при обильных осадках в горных массивах, стремительно разбухая, и стремительным потоком устремляясь в море, захватывая на своем пути сучья, пни, бревна, а то и жилые постройки...
