Teenagers today often play video games or use the internet. Our grandparents' free time was often a bit different! In the past, many young people (1) kept stamps in an album, or (2) built model aeroplanes. They (3) read books or (4) drew pictures, and sometimes (5) wrote letters to their pen friends. Perhaps they (6) spent their time making things, such as clothes. Of course, some teenagers today still do these things, but they are not as popular as they (7) were. Not everything was different, though. Just like today, teenagers in the past (8) met their friends and (9) ate lunch together while they (10) were talking about their lives, their hopes and their dreams. And as they (11) were getting older, they (12) found they had less free time to enjoy. Perhaps some things stay the same!
