Present Perfect употребляется для выражения действия, которое началось в прошлом и завершилось к моменту речи. Время действия, как правило, не указывается, так как нам важен сам результат или сам факт его совершения – есть связь с настоящим. Часто используем, когда говорим об опыте человека. Маркеры времени: just, already, yet, recently, lately, today, this week, this month, this year, ever, never, so far, up to now, for a long time и т.д.  

Past Simple используется для обозначения действия, которое произошло в определенное время в прошлом и время совершения которого уже истекло. Маркеры времени: last year, last month, last week, yesterday, some days or years ago, in 1980 и т.д.
