There many other museums and picture galleries in the city and many famous artists and writers lived and worked here. There are many theatres, restaurants, cafes and other places where people can spend time with their friends.

Nizhniy Novgorod is also a modern industrial city. For example, machine building and shipbuilding industries are well-developed here.
