Read the text “Сloned human. Is it possible?”

Рис. 1. DNA

100 years ago it was impossible to even imagine cloning in reality. The idea seemed unbelievable. Everything has changed since then. In 1996 scientists successfully cloned an animal for the first time. The sheep, Dolly, lived average life. That was truly the revolution in science. However, human cloning is yet to come, and there are several ethical, moral and social issues that come from this tempting idea.

There are a number of pros and cons of human cloning.
The pros include:
- Infertile people could have children made from cloned cells;
- A clone could be a source of transplant organs or tissues;
- Cell cloning could help scientists in gene research;
- Cloning could advance human development.

The cons:
- Human cloning could lead to exploitation;
- There is the issue of violation of the clone's rights;
- Cloning raises the question of a moral right to an exclusive identity;
- Using a clone as a source of transplant organs or tissues is morally questionable.

Nevertheless, scientists work on this idea, but it is still unclear if it can be done.
