Dear Ben,
One of the most popular celebration in Russia is New Year. The whole family gains around the table having a big dinner and maybe even inviting friends. One really religious celebration is Easter. In the morning people usually have breakfast. We eat colored eggs and a special kind of Easter cake. People also go to the church to pray for the night. My favorite holiday is Maslenitsa. On that day everyone eats thin pancakes with jam or sweetned milk. People are dancing and singing. The most important part on that day is to burn a big type of doll. It is a tradition since a long time ago.
