Нужно переделать в косвенную речь

Lion asked what was going on and who was there.
A mouse asked him if Lion saw it(her).
Lion asked who it (she) was.
A mouse answered that it (she) was his friend.A mouse asked if it(she) could help him.
Lion agreed and asked how it(she) would do it.
A mouse told him not to worry and said that it (she) could gnaw the net.
Lion asked why it( she) wanted to help him.He asked if it(she) was afraid of him.
A mouse replied that it(she) wasn`t afraid of him and added that it(she) was just his friend.

В английских сказках часто животные,птицы и насекомые описываются местоимением she/he,поэтому в скобках оно и написано.Однако,следуя грамматическому правилу я употребила it(которое характеризует животное)
