Dear friend,
Thank you for your letter. I was very happy to hear from you again. I hope you're fine.
I want to tell(to you/ you/-) about my travel experience in Australia. I adore travelling because I like to feel the freedom and adventure, and I really wanted to visit Australia for a (huge/high/long) time.
During my first stopover in Hong Kong, on my way to Australia, I felt nervous. I sat tired and hungry in my hotel room, (struggling/striving/straining) with my wish to return home. Because if I felt lonely after just 12 hours, could I do this for another 6 months? Fortunately, something inside persuaded me not to give( back/up/away).
I was afraid to meet unkind people but all people on my way to Australia were friendly.
(Therefore/However/Although) I travelled on my own, I was never alone – all the people I met became my friends. For example, when I was cold in Hong Kong, one French girl gave me her sweater, a Chinese girl helped me to find my way to the hotel. And the guy I met (on/by/at) chance walking down a mountain is now one of my closest friends.
I travelled to many places in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast. Of course, the brightest experience is the Great Barrier Reef. It is world-renowned (for/of/by) its abundance of marine life and world-class diving opportunities. When I was here, I saw turtles, sharks, vibrant coral, and beautiful fish. I spend a few days ( am diving/to dive/
diving) at this reef.
The only thing that (drove/went/got) me crazy in Australia: thousands of rules! I needed a ticket/permit for almost everything, but at the same time, the people were (laid/lain/lay)
back so it was really hard to get things organized.
Australia is a beautiful country with nice weather and friendly people. I want to go there again.
I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. I’ll show you my photos.
Best wishes,
Kate
