Dear Mike,
I don't think it is a big of a problem. To be honest, all of my family are short-sighted and so am I. I am getting used to it now, but a year ago I was scaried my eyesight will never be as good as it was. Don't worry. You can actually improve your eyesight by doing some excercises that doctor has given you. And you should stop playing computers games that much and let your eyes to relax.
