На рассвете, чтобы дать отдых уставшим лошадям, решили остановиться у подножия горы, которая высилась недалеко от дороги. В тёплом воздухе стоял запах мёда. На вершине горы в низком колючем кустарнике распевала какая-то птичка. На горизонте виднелось синее море. За перевалом вид окружающей местности резко изменился. На севере расстилалось безбрежное море зелени, волны которой покрывали самые крутые склоны. Даже на отвесных скалах заплетался пёстрый узор цветущих кустарников и деревьев.
