The Solar System's impact on the Earth

A.The Earth is one of the planets of the solar system. Being a part of the solar system, it is under the influence of other planets and the Sun, which is the centre of the solar system and it is the only star in it. As you know, the Sun constantly heats up the planet. As a result, water evaporates and becomes clouds, and eventually falls as rain.

B. Nowadays scientists are debating how much of the weather on the Earth depends on the Sun. Different scientists, different opinions: Professor Svensmark claims that climate depends on cosmic rays' intensity. According to Dr Alexander Chizhevsky the sun impacts not only climate, but it also impacts on biological and social processes on our planet. Dr Alexander Chizhevsky has proved that biological and social life on Earth depend on the Sun's activity.

C. Not only the Sun impacts on the Earth. The other planets of the solar system also impact on the Earth. Being the biggest planet of the solar system, Jupiter, with its strongest gravitational pull, protects Earth from falling meteorites and comets. A comet impact 55 million years ago may have helped mammals dominate the Earth. It could have triggered a rapid phase of global warming linked to the expansion of mammal groups. Space impacts have had profound effects on Earth's ecosystems. For example, an asteroid which slammed into Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula 66 million years ago was responsible for disappearing dinosaurs.

D. According to scientists' investigations, every 405,000 years, gravitational tugs from the planets Jupiter and Venus gradually affect Earth's climate and life forms. Because of these two planets' gravitational pulls, the earth's climate changes.

E. Alexander Chizhevsky identified the 11- year cycle of the sun and its connection with seismic activity on the Earth. When two or more planets align, they create a huge gravitational field which intensifies solar activity. The Earth is under the influence of a huge gravity struggle between the Sun and the planets. When the Sun's activity increases because of planet alignment, it leads to the motion of tectonic plates. It may cause earthquakes and tsunamis.

F.When the Moon is full or new, it impacts on the Earth causing high tides and low tides. The Moon's gravitational pull creates the tidal force. In this way, the water in the seas and oceans rises and falls.

Scientists are continuing to investigate our amazing solar system. We will be waiting for new discoveries.
