Office
Mr. Brown’s working day starts at 9 a.m. He normally comes to his office about fifteen minutes earlier. He is very punctual and hates coming late. Brown’s secretary Linda is already in her place. She makes coffee before her boss’s coming. She knows that a cup of freshly-brewed coffee is a perfect beginning for Brown’s day.
He is head of marketing department in a big trading company and he manages twenty-five employees. It’s a very responsible position. Every day Brown deals with reports, presentations, talks and business meetings. He finds his work very consuming and intensive but he likes it. There are obvious reasons for it. First working in business is very interesting and develops you professionally and personally. Moreover this work is prospective and if you do your duties well you will certainly get a promotion.
The trading company is international. Brown works side by side with foreigners. It’s not a problem for him as he speaks English fluently. Very often he goes on business abroad. Many people think that frequent trips are interesting because they give you an opportunity to see new countries and cities. But business is not tourism.
