Victory day - victory day of the Soviet army and the Soviet people over Nazi Germany in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945. Introduced in 1945[2] and until 1948 was a day off. Was first widely celebrated in the Soviet Union only two decades later, already under Brezhnev. In the same anniversary 1965 Victory Day again was non-functional.
