Простые: 4 - четыре, 1 - один, 8 - восемь, 5 - пять, 100 - сто (обозначаются одним словом, в котором есть только один корень) .

Сложные: 12 - двенадцать, 60 - шестьдесят, 80 - восемьдесят, 40 - сорок, 14 - четырнадцать

(обозначаются одним словом, но в этом слове есть несколько корней).

Составные: 1738 - одна тысяча семьсот тридцать восемь, 2010 - две тысячи десять, 120 - сто двадцать, 42 - сорок два, 21 - двадцать один, 117 - сто семнадцать, 208 - двести восемь, 578 - пятьсот семьдесят восемь, 69 - шестьдесят девять, 4123 - четыре тысячи сто тринадцать

(обозначаются  несколькими словами, причём каждое из них может быть простым и сложным).

The south has a subtropical climate. Hot winds blowing from the Gulf of Mexico
often bring typhoons. The climate along the Pacific coast is much warmer than that
of the Atlantic coast.
The USA is a highly developed industrial country. It's the world's leading
producer of copper and oil and the world's second producer of iron ore and coal.
Among the most important manufacturing industries are aircraft, cars, textiles,
radio and television sets, armaments, furniture and paper.
Though mainly European and African in origin, Americans are made up
from nearly all races and nations, including Chinese and native Americans.
